Why failover domain tag "nofailback" is ignored if service is in "starting" state?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • The failover domain tag "nofailback" is ignored if service is in "starting" state.
  • A failover domain has "nofailback" enabled but still a service that is in "starting" state would failback to the original cluster node. If a service takes a while to come up and is in the "starting" state and the original node comes back online while it is in that state the service will be failed back.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
  • Red Hat Cluster suite (RHCS)
  • rgmanager-2.0.52-9.el5
