Server crashed with hpasmlited messages in the system log

Issue

  • The following erros were seen in the logs after the server crashed :
        Oct 13 18:58:06 hostname hpasmlited[1289]: Failed GET SENSOR READING, sensor 9
        Oct 13 18:58:06 hostname hpasmlited[1289]: iLO 2 Communications Error - Attempting synchronization!
        Oct 13 18:58:51 hostname hpasmlited[1289]: check_ilo2: Failed to get BMC Device Id!
        Oct 13 18:59:36 hostname last message repeated 3 times
        Oct 13 18:59:36 hostname hpasmlited[1289]: The iLO 2 reset / synchronization process has FAILED!
        Oct 13 18:59:36 hostname hpasmlited[1289]: CRITICAL ERROR:  Resetting HP Advanced System Management Stack!
        Oct 13 18:59:36 hostname hpasmlited[1289]: The iLO 2 Management Processor is not responding!
        Oct 13 18:59:36 hostname hpasmlited[1289]:
        Oct 13 18:59:36 hostname hpasmlited[1289]: CRITICAL ERROR:  Resetting HP Advanced System Management Stack!
        Oct 13 18:59:58 hostname hpasmlited[1279]: Process has been instructed to stop from the user interface. Starting Shutdown process. . .
