Unable to extend the volume group

Issue

  • Why am I not able to extend the volume group?
  • Failed to extend the volume group with an error.
[root@hostname ~]# vgextend vg /dev/sdc
  Cannot archive volume group metadata for vg to read-only filesystem.
  • Not able to increase the size of existing volume group.
