Why SYNC_HWCLOCK is not working when it is set to yes Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6?
Issue
- After a reboot, hardware clock is not synchronized with system clock even if the option
SYNC_HWCLOCKisyesin /etc/sysconfig/ntpd:
# cat /etc/sysconfig/ntpd
SYNC_HWCLOCK=yes
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
- NTP
