Logrotate skip the rotation of logs which the owner is not root.

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Logrotate skip the rotation of logs which the owner is not root.
  • Logrotate debug log shows:
rotating pattern: /var/log/test
considering log /var/log/test
error: skipping "/var/log/test " because parent directory has insecure permissions (It's world writable or writable by group which is not "root") Set "su" directive in config file to tell logrotate which user/group should be used for rotation.
