DM-Multipath is unable to create multipath devices and shows the error message - 'device-mapper: message ioctl failed: No such device or address'

Issue

  • multipath -v4 command fails to create the multipath devices and reports following error messages:

    Found matching wwid [360011118011f03290800000000001116] in bindings file.
Setting alias to mpath9
[...]
libdevmapper: ioctl/libdm-iface.c(2022): device-mapper: message ioctl failed: No such device or address
DM message failed [queue_if_no_path
]
