rpcidmapd caching can cause ownership problems in an NFSv4 and NIS environment in RHEL 6
Issue
- rpcidmapd caching causes ownership problems in an NFSv4 and NIS environment.
- For a network using NIS and NFSv4, rpcidmapd caching uid/gid mappings can cause a problem if /etc/fstab mounts an NFSv4 file system remotely owned by a uid/gid which will be resolved by NIS.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6
- NFSv4
- NIS
