Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

I am trying to roll back a yum transaction, which includes systemd. For example, after an upgrade from Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7.3 to 7.4, I initiate the rollback with yum history undo 3 and get this error:

Error: Trying to remove "systemd", which is protected

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7
  • yum
  • systemd
