System Tray Icon no longer available in gnome 3.26

Issue

After longer pause than normal, SpiderOakGroups, synergy, etc programs return No systemtrayicon available on command line.
After longer pause than normal, synergy displays new GUI window stating System tray is unavailable, don't close your window.
Tray icons placed in top bar by gnome-shell-extension-top-icons appear to be non-responsive.
