GFS2 Filesystem resource fails to start with "WARNING: Couldn't find device [xxxx]. Expected /dev/??? to exist"

Issue

  • GFS2 new nodes added to existing cluster, can not enable gfs2 mounts on newer nodes
  • Why can't I mount my GFS2 filesystem?
  • What does "WARNING: Couldn't find device. Expected /dev/??? to exist" mean?
  • GFS2 Filesystem resource fails to start with message "not installed".
