Server stuck at "A start job is running for Apply Kernel Variables (1h 42min 7s / no limit)" after changing sysctl paraeter "nr_hugepages"

Server get stuck at boot time after changing any early boot parameter like
nr_hugepagesvalue in any of thesysctlconfiguration file. -
Boot process gets stuck at the following message :
"A start job is running for Apply Kernel Variables (1h 42min 7s / no limit)"
