cpio command returns warning message - 'file shrunk by n bytes, padding with zeros'

Issue

  • While taking the system backup using cpio command following warning messages are observed.
cpio: File ./sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cache/index2/coherency_line_size shrunk by 4093 bytes, padding with zeros
cpio: File ./sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cache/index2/level shrunk by 4094 bytes, padding with zeros
[...]
cpio: ./sys/devices/platform/serial8250/tty:ttyS2: Invalid argument
  • Whether above messages are informational only? or it indicates some problem?
