How to fix "Peer does not recognize and trust the CA that issued your certificate" error

Issue

  • Yum returns the following error while user trying to install/update packages:
tlsv1 alert unknown ca
https://<satellite hostname>/pulp/repos/<org>/Library/<repository path>/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno 14] curl#35 - "Peer does not recognize and trust the CA that issued your certificate."
  • How to avoid re-registering the hosts when the ssl ca certs are accidentally changed on the Satellite server?
