CUPS Job Data Files in /var/log/spool/cups are not being removed in RHEL 7

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

According to the Knowledgebase Solution In RHEL, what files are in /var/spool/cups, and how can I change what is saved there?, it sounds like the files in /var/spool/cups should be removed after 30 seconds if successfully printed (default). However both the "d" and "c" files remain there. It appears that they remain there until the default limit of 500 is reached and then they are removed one new jobs are printed. Is it normal for the files to stay there or are they supposed to be removed after 30 seconds of completing?
