When a nameserver in resolv.conf doesn't know about a host, can the system fail over to another nameserver?
Issue
-
We have multiple DNS servers on our network and 3 of them are configured in a RHEL system's
/etc/resolv.conffile, e.g.:nameserver 10.0.0.1 # handles queries for some internal zones nameserver 10.0.0.2 # handles queries for zones that .1 nameserver doesn't know about nameserver 10.0.0.3 # handles queries out to the global internetThis doesn't work at all. Is there any way that resolv.conf can be configured such that when a nameserver doesn't know about a host, the system can fail over to another nameserver?
