ypasswd failed to change the Password for NIS users : Error: The NIS password has not been changed on NISServer

Issue

• When trying to change the password of an NIS user using yppasswd, following error is noticed after entering the current and new passwords:

[root@example]#  yppasswd nisuser
Tue Apr 11 13:56:10 IST 2017
Changing NIS account information for nisuser on nisserver.
Please enter root password:
Changing NIS password for nisuser on nisserver.
Please enter new password:
Please retype new password:
Error while changing the NIS password.
The NIS password has not been changed on nisserver.
