How to connect to rhevm-shell in Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization ?

Issue

  • Unable to connect to rhevm-shell locally on the RHEV-Manager.
  • Getting the following errors while trying to connect:
# rhevm-shell

[RHEVM shell (disconnected)]# connect --url "https://rhevm.example.com:443/api" --user "admin@internal" --password 'redhat'
error: server CA certificate file must be specified for SSL secured connection.
  • Not sure about the location of the CA certificate file and how it needs to be passed to connect to the rhevm-shell.
  • Tried providing the CA certifcate file as /etc/pki/ovirt-engine/certs/engine.cer and then tried to connect.
[RHEVM shell (disconnected)]# connect --cert-file /etc/pki/ovirt-engine/certs/engine.cer --url "https://rhevm.example.com:443/api" --user "admin@internal" --password 'redhat'
