JBoss Enterprise Middleware Product support periods

Solution Verified - Updated -

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Middleware (All Products)
  • Red Hat JBoss Operations Network

Issue

  • Is there a list of JBoss Enterprise Middleware Product support periods ?
  • How to know JBoss Enterprise Application Platform support period ? Does using a cumulative patch (CP) change anything on the policy of product's life cycle ?
  • How to see when maintenance mode and End of Life (EOL) is coming for the JBoss products and how does this impact customer's support?
  • Having purchased JBoss EAP, does this include the upgrades, so if users are ready, can they use JBoss EAP 6.1 ?
  • Is there any documentation of support periods of JBoss EAP?
  • When does product X reach End of Life?
  • How long is product X supported?
  • We would like to know how long Redhat would support JBOSS 5.0.1 version.
  • According to your site, Jboss 4.3 will be in extended support until November 2016. I would like to know what options we have for support after this time, e.g. will there be any, or is there an option for extended extended support ?
  • End of support date and extended support date. Please confirm us about end of support date and extended support for Jboss 6.1.1 and Jboss 4.3.0GA_CP07.

Resolution

  • Please refer to https://access.redhat.com/support/policy/updates/jboss_notes/ for a detailed description of JBoss Enterprise Middleware support policy and specific dates when each phase of support begins and ends for each JBoss product.

  • Once the JBoss version has reached end of life (after the maintenance phase has ended) support will only be available if customers have purchased the optional Extended Life Support subscription.

  • Using a CP does not change anything on the policy of product's life cycle. But we highly recommend to update to newer CP periodically.
