Serving static content from an external directory in JBoss EAP 5

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • If an application needs to fetch static content such as templates/xslt files that need to make available to an application deployed in JBoss AS, where should they be stored?
  • Static content should be defined in an external folder/location, so that I can setup an rsync to that location and make it dynamically available to my app.
  • How can a web application access to a directory with images in JBoss EAP 5?

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP)
    • 5
  • Windows Vista Enterprise Service Pack1
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux
    • 5.x
