Why only after upgrade to RHEL 7.2 kernel, server is dropping the incoming SYN packets ?
Issue
- There is a hardware load balancer(F5 LB) with
RFC1323enabled which send packets toRHELserver with RHEL 7.2 kernel(kernel-3.10.0-327.22.2.el7) andRFC1323optiontcp_timestampsenabled (value = 1). In this topology, it is observed that RHEL server is dropping few incomingSYNspackets. - Above issue has started only after upgrading the kernel to RHEL 7.2 from RHEL 7.1. Booting the system back to RHEL 7.1 kernel eliminates the issue.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.2
- kernel-3.10.0-327.22.2.el7
