dmraid does not rebuild the isw mirror raid set (RAID1) after failure and replacement of a disk

Issue

  • disk in isw dmraid setup was failed, replaced, but didn't rebuild correctly
  • dmraid mirror rebuild not accepting new disk
  • dmraid mirror rebuild failed to update status
  • The disk in isw dmraid setup failed, rebuild failed
  • disk replaced and rebuild done via the Intel Matrix Storage Manager option ROM bios utility at power on/boot time.
  • after booting up the system, dmraid -s (status) is still status : nosync
$ dmraid -s
