Kernel find virtual cd/dvd or floppy but server does not have any physical cd/floppy, why?

  • We can find followed message in the file /proc/scsi/scsi

    Host: scsi8 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 00
      Vendor: Linux    Model: Virtual Floppy   Rev: 0316
      Type:   Direct-Access                    ANSI SCSI revision: 02
    Host: scsi8 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 01
  • But there is no physical devices equipped within this server, what is the device and what should I do with this devices?
