A-MQ Client/Broker Compatibility Matrix

Issue

• What is the level of compatibility between different versions of clients and brokers ? Can we run 6.2.1 clients (i.e. 6.2.1.redhat-084) against a 6.2.1R1 broker (i.e. 6.2.1.redhat-090) ?

• Is compatibility/support guaranteed between client and server versions having the same:

  • non-roll-up patches ?
  • roll-up patches ?
  • patch/3rd digit version numbers ?
  • minor/2nd digit version numbers ?
  • major/1st digit version number ?

• At the moment at JMS clients use the jar activemq-all-5.11.0.redhat-620133.jar which was released with A-MQ 6.2.0 . Could you please confirm it is compatible with A-MQ 6.2.1 R1?

• Do you have have some compatibility matrix to help clients check their client libraries are still compatible with the broker version they want to upgrade to.
