  • While shutting a database instance down, the system hits a kernel panic and dumps the following message:
kernel BUG at mm/filemap.c:129!

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux, version 6
  • Kernel version < kernel-2.6.32-279.11.1.el6
  • Applications that use shared memory segments backed by huge pages (hugetlbfs)
