NetworkManager VLAN interface gateway is not added after boot

Issue

  • Gateway missing on vlan device when starting up the server and needs to be added manually.
  • If using a VLAN on top of a team in RHEL 7.2, NetworkManager fails to set the default gateway for the VLAN device at boot time.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.2
    • Bonding or Teaming link aggregation
    • NetworkManager earlier than NetworkManager-1.0.6-30
    • VLAN device with static route or default gateway
