"ERROR: [findif] failed" shown in Pacemaker

Issue

  • Below messages shown in /var/log/pacemaker.log:

    14168 IPaddr2(VIP)[12083]:    2016/01/07_09:44:19 ERROR: Unable to find nic or netmask.
    14169 IPaddr2(VIP)[12083]:    2016/01/07_09:44:19 ERROR: [findif] failed
    
  • pcs status shows:

    myip_start_0 on cluster0.heartbeat.example.com 'unknown error' (1): call=20, status=complete, exit-reason='[findif] failed', last-rc-change='Mon Jan 11 13:24:32 2016', queued=0ms, exec=39ms
    
  • Virtual IP (IPaddr2 resource) failed to start/stop in pacemaker.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 7, 8, 9 (with the High Availability Add On)- IPaddr2 (VIP)
