Why does my Xen dom0 detect only 32GB of RAM?

Issue

  • While installing xen on hardware with more than 32GB memory the OS detects only 32GB memory.
  • dmesg output shows all memory present, but free output does not.
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) does not show total available memory when booting into a xen kernel.

  • Xen kernel
