RHEL System Logs Multiple "DriveReady SeekComplete Error" Messages
Issue
- The following errors appear in the /var/log/messages log at regular intervals:
hdc: packet command error : 0x54 [time and date] hdc: packet command error - status : DriveReady SeekComplete Error [time and date] hdc: packet command error : 0x50 [time and date] hdc: packet command error - status : DriveReady SeekComplete Error [time and date] hdc: packet command error : 0x50 [time and date] hdc: packet command error - status : DriveReady SeekComplete Error[time and date] - In Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, the following errors are output. We cannot use a CD-ROM drive.
