Why is the message "User's $HOME/.dmrc file is being ignored." shown when logging into the desktop ?

Issue

• When logging into the Red Hat Enterprise Linux desktop, a dialog box pops up complaining about "$HOME/.dmrc"
• This error is also observed regardless of the permission on file which  is set properly, in case NIS users are logging in to the system whose  home directories are automounted through NFS.
