Interface comes up after every reboot with wrong address and ifup + ifdown fix it temporarily

Issue

  • One of the network interfaces (eth0) has IP address and netmask configured statically. After a reboot, the interface has the wrong ip address. A service network restart does not fix it, but performing an ifdown eth0; ifup eth0 does leave it with the correct address.
