GVFS mount locations not visible in ~/.gvfs directory in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Our users now are currently able to run gvfs-mount smb://server/share and get access to their shares. These shares are located in /home/user/.gvfs/ which our sys admins then symlink to /home/user/My Documents. When we run the same command on our rhel 6 desktops the share does mount, but nothing is listed /home/users/.gvfs/ Where does redhat put those mounted gvfs shares so our sysadmins can symlink to another location.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
  • GNOME Desktop Environment
