Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • The following messages printed to /var/log/messages:

  • ceph-osd tasks get killed when the above messages appear
  • Dropping caches via the following command alleviates the issue immediately, however the issue returns after a random amount of time.
# echo '3' > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
  • kernel 3.10.0-123.20.1.el7.x86_64
