Print jobs sent to LPD print device are failing
Issue
- CUPS error:
/usr/lib/cups/backend/lpd
stopped with status 1!` - Unable to process print jobs as communication appears to have been lost with a Networked UNIX (LPD) printer

We are able to add the printer using
system-config-printer
but are not able to print any files. The error is "/usr/lib/cups/backend/lpd failed
" -
One of the cups print queue keeps failing more often. Please find error below.
#lpstat -p lp03 printer lp03 is idle. enabled since Wed 21 Oct 2015 09:40:57 AM CEST /usr/lib/cups/backend/lpd failed

In our production box we are getting the below error for two printers.
"/usr/lib/cups/backend/lpd failed"
Whenever we resumed the printer after some time it got paused again with the above error.
