Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 kdump hangs on VMWare ESX 5.
Issue
- Kdump crash kernel hangs or panics on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 (RHEL 6) on VMware platform ESX prior to 5.0 Update2 and 5.1.
- The kdump process usually hang after loading the some module and some messages are printed as below:
the screen hang at INFO: task async/1:153 blocked for more than 120 seconds.
"echo 0 > /proc/sys/kernel/hung_task_timeout_secs" disables this message.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
- kdump
- VMware ESX prior to versions 5.0 Update2 and 5.1.
