After upgrading to RHEV 3.5, hosts are periodically being reported as "not responding"

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • I am getting periodic messages that hosts are not responding in WebUI, it usually happens multiple times per day. It did not start happening until I upgraded RHEV-H 6.6 to RHEV-H 7.0. When I check the status of the host after receiving these errors, it is always in UP state. Sometimes, there are no noticeable results. Other times, all of the VMs are migrated off of one of the hosts. Once, some of the VMs became frozen. I was not able to login and had to power them off.

  • Hosts will be reported as not responding and may be seen in a Connecting state. Most of the time the hosts in question will quickly return to an Up state.

  • The Event Log in the Admin Portal shows;

Host host-A is not responding. It will stay in Connecting state for a grace period of 60 seconds and after that an attempt to fence the host will be issued.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization 3.5
