Receiving error on iscsi device: "connectionX:0: detected conn error" when NIC has jumbo frames enabled using RHEL

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • When running a mkfs on an iscsi device we get the following errors:

  • I get detected conn error messages in the logs when using iSCSI connections when I have jumbo frames enabled, but not when I don't.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), 5, 6, or 7
  • `iscsi-initiator-utils*
  • Jumbo-frames enabled on the network-interface over which the iSCSI connection is made. That is, MTU on this interface is set higher than 1500.
