- System log files at
/var/log/messagesgrowing too large too quickly with many instances of
rpc.statd  : my_svc_run() - select: Bad file descriptor
- Our Server becomes extremely slow to respond for logon requests and NFS requests hang. Doing an ls on NFS shares hang indefinitely. /var/log was completely filled, with the messages file showing tons of instances of
rpc.statd: my_svc_run() - select: Bad file descriptor. Top showed rpc.statd processes having runaway levels of activity. I tried killing those processes, but the system still had issues. The only fix was to reboot the server.
