Fencing with fence_ipmilan fails with 'Unable to obtain correct plug status or plug is not available' after updating my High Availability nodes to RHEL 7 Update 1

Issue

  • I updated my cluster to 7.1 and fencing is failing now
# fence_ipmilan -P -a 192.168.10.10 -o status -l root -p passWord
Failed: Unable to obtain correct plug status or plug is not available
  • fence_ipmilan fails and seems to use the wrong cipher in ipmitools

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7 with the High Availability Add On
  • fence-agents-ipmilan releases prior to 4.0.11-11.el7_1
    • One or more stonith devices configured to use fence_ipmilan
  • ipmitool-1.8.13-7.el7 or later
