How to skip failed boot-time filesystem checks?
Issue
- A backend storage issue resulted in many systems requiring console interaction to boot.
- Systems fail at the filesystem check during the boot process with:
*** An error occurred during the file system check.
*** Dropping you to a shell; the system will reboot
*** when you leave the shell.
*** Warning -- SELinux is active
*** Disabling security enforcement for system recovery.
*** Run 'setenforce 1' to reenable.
Give root password for maintenance
(or type CTRL-D to continue):
- The filesystem is not a system filesystem, but had filesystem checks enabled in
/etc/fstab
. - Pressing CTRL-D at the maintenance shell results in a reboot.
- Need a streamlined method to skip maintenance shell.
- Does fastboot parameter skip filesystem checks?
