crond skipping crontab entry and not logging error

Issue

  • cron jobs are being skipped due to issues with getpwnam() failing; however, nothing is logged indicating that is occurring.
  • Post cronie-1.4.4-14.el6 receving ERROR (getpwnam() failed): Broken pipe for LDAP authenticated user.

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6
    • All version prior to: cronie-1.4.4-14.el6
