Issue

  • When running Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) as a guest within VMware, VMware support may make the recommendation that timeouts for virtual disk devices are increased to '180'.
  • Virtualized disks are timing out and switching to read-only.

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6
  • VMware ESX 4.1 (Kandinsky)
  • VMware tools version 8.3.2
