CLVMD_STOP_TIMEOUT in /etc/sysconfig/cluster or /etc/sysconfig/clvmd is not honored and does not affect how long the clvmd init script will wait to timeout in RHEL 5 and 6 Resilient Storage clusters

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • I need to change the CLVMD_STOP_TIMEOUT in /etc/sysconfig/cluster because I use a higher token setting, but when I change the value it doesn't seem to have any effect.
  • CLVMD_STOP_TIMEOUT is not honored by the clvmd init script

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5 or 6 with the Resilient Storage Add On
  • lvm2-cluster
    • locking_type = 3 in /etc/lvm/lvm.conf
    • clvmd chkconfig'd on or being started manually
    • CLVMD_START_TIMEOUT set to a value in /etc/sysconfig/cluster or /etc/sysconfig/clvmd
