Is it possible to Change the default connection settings for the interface created with NetworkManager in RHEL7?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • We note that by default all new connections are created with ipv4.never-default no (DEFROUTE=yes).
  • This means that NetworkManager will move the default route to other interfaces created later causing the actual gateway of the host to be unreachable which is undesireable.
  • Is there a way to make connections default to ipv4.never-default yes (DEFROUTE=no) for all new connections created so forth with NetworkManager?
  • Is is possible to configure/change NetworkManager default connection settings?

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux(RHEL)7.0.
  • NetworkManager.
