Cluster service with lvm resource fails to start with error "Unable to get volume group attributes" in a RHEL 5 or 6 High Availability cluster with HA-LVM

Issue

  • Service start up on secondary node failed after primary cluster node was fenced
  • Attempts to start a cluster service fail with the lvm resource reporting "Unable to get volume group attributes"
