Issue

  • Network interface using the bnx2x driver intermittently drops connectivity
  • Seeing the following errors in messages:
kernel: bnx2x: [bnx2x_dcbnl_set_dcbx:2332(eth1)]Requested DCBX mode 5 is beyond advertised capabilities

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.5 (kernel-2.6.32-431.el6 series) and later
  • Broadcom/QLogic NetXtreme II 10GbE network interface using bnx2x driver
  • Software which impacts DCB (Data Center Bridging) mode such as lldpad
