The sap_cluster_connector script no longer detects "maintenance_mode"

Solution In Progress - Updated -

Issue

After updating to RHEL 8.10+ or RHEL 9.4+ with the SAP HA interface configured, the sap_cluster_connector script no longer correctly reports when a node moves to maintenance-mode ( MM ). Instead, below messages are reported to standard logs at a time when the cluster is known to be in maintenance-mode:

$ tail /var/log/messages
-----------------------------------------8<-----------------------------------------
Feb 18 10:52:33 rhel9-node1 sap_cluster_connector[29552]: Resource JOS_SAP_ASCS00 with InstanceName=JOS_ASCS00_sapjos-scs found
Feb 18 10:52:33 rhel9-node1 sap_cluster_connector[29552]: resource JOS_SAP_ASCS00 is not in maintanance mode
Feb 18 10:52:33 rhel9-node1 sap_cluster_connector[29552]: resource JOS_SAP_ASCS00 is not in maintanance mode

Since the sap_cluster_connector script does not detect the proper maintenance state, management of the SAP application while using the SAP HA Interface, no longer works as expected.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8, 9 for SAP Applications/Solutions
  • Pacemaker cluster running SAPInstance resources that are also managed by external tools such as SAP Management Console (MC/MMC) or SAP Landscape Management (LaMa)
