Why does UEFI vfat /boot/efi partition generate messages like "FAT-fs (sda1) Volume was not properly unmounted. Some data may be corrupt. Please run fsck" ?
Issue
- In Red Hat Enterprise Linux, the
UEFI vfat /boot/efi
partition generates messages in/var/log/messages
as follows.
kernel: FAT-fs (sda1): Volume was not properly unmounted. Some data may be corrupt. Please run fsck.
- Is it safe to always ignore this message? Any possible workaround?
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8
