  • Modules to access tape drive are not loaded in rescue mode. How to access tape device in rescue mode ?
  • Device files are not created for tape device in rescue mode. Tape drive works fine for backup when the system is not in rescue mode.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
  • HP DL160se Server having HP LTO4 tape drive connect to P212 controller
