Why the date and time jumps in /var/log/messages?
Issue
- The date and time appears to jump back and forth in
/var/log/messagesor in otherrsysloglog files, even though the system clock is synchronized usingNTPor other methods. - Old log messages reappear in new log files.
- With
rsyslogof version lower thanrsyslog-8.24.0-16.el7thersyslogddaemon process may also crash. See Solution 3226751 for details.
