What are the support policies for Azure Stack?

Support Statement for Red Hat Enterprise Linux on Azure Stack:

Red Hat supports the Red Hat Enterprise Linux Guest OS with collaboration from Microsoft through Integrated support. Refer to What Red Hat products are supported on Azure Stack? for a list of Red Hat products supported on Azure Stack.

Customers are required to have appropriate support agreements (Standard, Professional Direct, and Premier – see FAQ – in place with Microsoft and Red Hat to enable Integrated Support.

Customers are required to have a valid support contract with Azure Stack OEM vendors in place. Microsoft facilitates support transfer when the issue is related to OEM hardware.

What Red Hat products are supported on Azure Stack?

The following products are supported on Azure Stack.

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7.1 (and later)
  • OpenShift Container Platform 3.9, 3.10, and 3.11

How do I install RHEL on Azure Stack?

To install RHEL on Azure Stack, refer to Provisioning a Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.1 (or later) Virtual Machine for Azure Stack.

What type of subscription is required for RHEL on Azure Stack?

When a VM is provisioned on Azure Stack, customers attach an unused RHEL 7 Server subscription using Red Hat Subscription Manager.

Can existing Red Hat Cloud Access customers unregister a Cloud Access subscription and move it from Microsoft Azure to Azure Stack?

Not currently. Contact your Red Hat representative for additional information.

Can I migrate an On-Demand Marketplace RHEL image to Azure Stack?

No. There is currently no supported migration path for Microsoft On-Demand Marketplace RHEL images to Azure Stack environments.
